Our Staff

Moses was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Toronto at the age of nine. Moses earned his M.Div. at Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. During this time, he also served as a youth pastor in Augusta, Georgia. After marrying his wife Miranda, he served as an associate pastor at Westside Community Church in Toronto. In 2011, he accepted a call to move to Hamilton and join the New City Church staff, being ordained as a minister in the PCA shortly thereafter. After serving as assistant, then associate pastor for 13 years, Moses was installed as senior pastor in 2024.

Moses loves reading, trying new restaurants, his ever-disappointing Toronto sports teams, discovering new trails in Hamilton, music, and most of all, his beautiful wife and daughters, Evangeline, Emmanuelle, and Alexandria.

Josiah hails from the true north of Edmonton, Alberta, the land of AAA beef and Oilers hockey.

In 2017 he moved to Toronto to serve for Athletes in Action on the campuses of U of T, York and TMU. Through AiA Josiah met his wife, Emily and they have been happily married since 2019. They have one happy son, Matthias.

Josiah earned his M.Div. at Heritage Theological Seminary and has been on staff at New City since 2022. He likes all kinds of sports, but especially his Oilers, volleyball and rugby. He also likes reading, movies and going to the gym. He would like hiking, but those can only be found on a mountain, otherwise a nice evening walk suffices.

Catherine serves as the Administrator and New City Kids Coordinator, feeling grateful to work at New City Church with a fantastic staff and church family.

Catherine brings diverse experiences to her roles. She earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts and a B.Ed in Education from Redeemer University in 2017, and has worked in Christian education both overseas and in Ontario. Her theatrical skills sometimes emerge, like when she dressed as a glittery fish for kids camp. She completed a two-year Bible college program in 2023 and has a long-standing passion for children’s ministry, starting Sunday school teaching at 16. As a university student, she interned at West Highland Baptist Church for two summers and worked as a Christian day camp program coordinator in 2019.

Catherine’s deep love for people is evident, and she values connecting with our youngest members. She acknowledges her imperfections and serves New City by God's grace.

Dan Kikkert

There once was a boy from the country
Who thought elsewhere he should be
He wandered for years
But it became clear
He ought put down roots at New City

Dan is the Worship Coordinator at New City Hamilton, his latest title in a meandering yet meaningful career. From fulfilling a childhood dream of working at one of the last video rental stores in Canada to spending two years learning songwriting and servant leadership at Prairie College in Alberta, he draws from a wide variety of experiences, successes and failures. At New City, through song and scripture, he seeks to showcase to saints and searchers the sweeping scope of God's salvation story.

Dan is partial to chai tea lattes, distinctive socks, the sound of rain, sci-fi & fantasy stories and deep dives into niche topics. He currently lives on a farm with his three cats and twenty thousand chickens.
