TELL
Purpose
TELL stands for “Talking with English Language Learners.” We exist to provide quality ESL programming for newcomers to Hamilton and to foster a community of care that reflects the love of Christ and his Church.
Vision
We envision a place where newcomers move from being strangers to friends to family, and an entry point to bridge the gap between our church and city.

Care Team Resource Bank
The Care Team is excited to provide you with that opportunity to serve and contribute to New City and our community in Hamilton by signing up for the Care Team Resource Bank.
-
This is an initiative to capture the passions, skills and resources of everyone who calls New City home. This will allow the Care Team to know who they can reach out to when needs arise.
-
When people sign up through the Care Team resource bank, the Care Team gets in touch with them to learn a little more about the ways in which they might be able to help others. We learn what we are capable of within our church family, and this helps us to connect a need with a potential offer of support a little more quickly. It allows us to send out more focused requests for specific needs, rather than sending broad requests to the whole church.
-
Since we believe that God has gifted and called each of his children to serve a vital role in the growth and service of His church, we encourage everyone to sign up!
-
The Care Team supports a broad range of needs. and we often see new types of needs come up. Your skills are certainly useful, from patient and empathetic listening to helping with physical tasks, such as cleaning.
-
I suspect you probably have skills that are useful to the Care Team. If you’re unsure of ways you might be gifted, we do encourage you to sign up and allow us to tease out some areas you might already be serving unawares.
-
The Care Team hopes to have several people to call on when a need arises, with the expectation that not everyone will be able to support that need, even though they may have signed up for it—that is completely understandable. If you sign up for a specific way to serve, we’ll include you in the list of individuals to ask when that need comes up, and at that point you’ll have the opportunity to accept or decline the request. The Care Team will also be available throughout the process to provide support and guidance as needed. We won’t expect you to cover the financial cost of helping.
