Sunday Morning Programing

Sunday mornings with New City Kids are Christ-centered – our programs focus on teaching and learning about the Bible as one succinct story – the story of God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and death. Together, we pray, sing, learn and play! We present biblical theology in an age-appropriate and engaging way to children from the time they are born until they are ready to transition to Youth Group in their adolescent years.

New City Kids seeks to partner with families in the Christian nurture and discipleship of their children. For this reason, it is strongly encouraged that parents be actively involved in supporting the Children’s Ministry – prayerfully, practically, and intentionally.

At New City, families are encouraged to worship and pray together during the service! Just before the sermon, the children are prayed for and then dismissed to join their teachers for child-focused activities in our Sunday School rooms.

  • Our nursery offers quality Christ-centered programs for the youngest members of our congregation. Children are engaged in singing songs, reading stories, playing games, and being cared for by responsible and loving volunteers from our Church family. Our nursery program helps to lay a foundation of Christ’s love in young lives and provides parents with an opportunity to grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible as they participate in the Worship Service.

  • We offer two unique spaces for preschool children (aged 2-3 years old) and for our Kindergarten Crew (JK/SK). Here, children are engaged in Christ-centered, bible-based learning through a variety of activities, stories, games, and multi-media presentations. Our program is designed to help lead children to an understanding of the Bible as one story focusing on God’s love and redemption plan for his people through Christ, while modelling what it means to be a follower of Christ.

  • We offer a variety of classes for our elementary aged children. Here, children are engaged in Christ-centered, bible-based learning through a variety of activities, stories, games, and multi-media presentations geared to their specific age and stage. Our program is designed to help children develop a deeper understanding of the Bible as one story focusing on God’s love, sacrifice, and redemption of his people through Christ. In these classes, we seek to disciple our children by continually pointing them to Christ as their sustainer and Father, helping our children understand who they are in Christ, by encouraging them to foster and nurture a relationship with Christ, by modelling Christian values and attitudes, by teaching and practicing spiritual disciplines, and by loving and serving each other.
