STAFF TRANSITIONS
Dear Church,
We are excited to announce the hiring of two new staff members!
It’s a somewhat bittersweet transition, as Kevin deJonge, who has served so faithfully as a staff member over the years, will be stepping down on June 15th, 2022.
Kevin began attending staff meetings at New City in the Spring of 2015 in order to fulfill his seminary internship requirements. And in the summer of 2018, he joined the staff at New City as a church-planting intern through the Grace Network. Since then, he has held a variety of positions at New City, overseeing the youth ministry, providing administrative support, and was on track to begin a sports ministry when COVID struck. Over the past few months, Kevin has been sensing that God is calling him to a vocation outside of the local church. To be sure, Kevin and Michelle are not planning on leaving New City as their home church, but they are prayerfully discerning their next steps.
Please join us in giving thanks for the precious gift that Kevin has been to New City as our administrator and youth director. We, the staff, will miss his diligence, his energy and enthusiasm, his earnestness and integrity, his sense of humor, and his love for God and his people. Please pray for Kevin and Michelle, for the Lord’s guidance and grace in this time of transition.
Nevertheless, we are excited to welcome Josiah Ling and Jeremy Kruizinga to the New City staff!
Josiah will begin serving on July 1st as our new Coordinator of Discipleship and Family Ministries. In this role, Josiah will work with the pastoral team to implement the discipleship ministries and programs of New City, with an emphasis on the gospel-centered discipleship of families and younger members. Josiah will be working three-quarter-time.
Josiah and his wife Emily became members of New City in March 2021 and we have come to know, love, and trust them. Josiah has served faithfully as a pastoral intern, leading the Young Adults ministry, serving as a teacher in New City Kids, and helping with communications. Josiah is young—twenty-seven-years-old to be exact—but he brings a wealth of church ministry experience in children’s ministry, youth ministry, young adults ministry, sports ministry and other areas.
Jeremy Kruizinga began serving on June 1st as our new part-time administrator. In this role, he will be providing administrative assistance to the pastoral team of New City Church.
Jeremy and his wife Michaella have been members of New City since October of 2020 and we have come to love and appreciate them as well! Jeremy is one of the most organized people we know, and we think he’ll fit right in as our newest staff member.
Church family, we strongly urge you to pray for these two men as they begin their work at New City. Please extend your love and warm partnership to them as they serve us and help us all to bring the whole gospel to Hamilton until Hamilton is whole!
